This is a great buy for anyone wishing to remodel their fireplace, and I highly recommend it!

This mantle completed a recent rehabbed property of our company.

Blackened soot, ashes and dust particles can accumulate on the exterior and interior spaces of a fireplace, making the bricks look old and dirty.

Use a medium 120-grit sandpaper to lightly sand any loose pieces of mortar or crumbling brick on your fireplace.

Spritz with clear water to rinse and blot dry with a clean cloth.

Sometimes a fireplace simply needs a thorough cleaning and a little maintenance to give it an updated, fresh look.

After caulking and giving it another coat of paint while up, we did a backsplash type surround and it looks amazing!

I wasn't sure if this fireplace surround would work because my fireplace was raised off the ground and had no hearth (just tiles at floor level) However, I decided to take a chance and bought it, hoping I could build a raised hearth underneath it.

Her house is currently orange brick which this house clearly was prior to being limewashed so it’s a good example of what the end result will be. originally the shutters and door were blue Slate, which didnt look as good so got them painted black. now i’m tired of The brick but my husband likes brick.

(Click on images for the link to the source) We don’t have brick homes in the Westcoast so this is not something we do here, so I thought I’d ask you, my lovelies: Do have have a limewashed house? i guess i could get the brick painted a fresh coat of the darker shade of terra Cotta – if i cant get it white-washed.

Color works well when it’s just around the fireplace, too.
